The Intensive Service Intern supports refugee clients through case management, client coordination, and community resource navigation in a hybrid role combining office, remote, and field work in Baltimore.
Responsibilities
- Help clients schedule transportation remotely for medical and essential appointments.
- Lead virtual or in-person orientation sessions covering public transit use, medical appointments, and accessing local services for refugee clients.
- Maintain accurate case documentation including case notes and file updates.
- Collaborate with clients, staff, and external partners to create individualized service plans based on client needs and preferences.
- Provide support to vulnerable populations including single-parent refugee families, domestic violence survivors, older refugees, unaccompanied youth, and individuals with mental or physical disabilities.
- Link at-risk clients to healthcare, education, and psychosocial support in coordination with the extended services team.
- Perform additional tasks as needed by the program team.
Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global setting.
- Reliable and adaptable, with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web-based tools such as databases and Box.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience or interest in working with refugees and immigrants.
- Background or interest in case management, social work, or public health.
- Bilingual in a language commonly spoken by the local refugee population.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance, and ability to travel regularly within Baltimore.

Additional Information
- This internship is unpaid.
- Academic credit may be arranged with the intern’s educational institution.
- The internship lasts 14 weeks, beginning June 8, 2026, and ending September 11, 2026.
- A mandatory orientation session is scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Interns must commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week over the 14-week period.
- Interns are required to be present in the office at least three days per week.
