Role Summary

As a Retirement Plan Specialist, you'll dive deep into 401(k) plan administration. Through intensive training and hands-on experience, you'll quickly progress from document review to managing entire plan processes. You'll be the client's guide, reviewing submissions, tracking progress, and helping them navigate complex year-end reporting and government filings.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collect client information for annual reporting
  • Review client documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Reconcile rollover and stock plans using Excel and admin software
  • Perform 401(k) testing and reporting
  • Follow up with clients via calls and emails during plan reporting
  • Prepare IRS Form 5500 and other required government filings
  • Educate clients on 401(k) plan administration

Extra Tasks

  • Break down complex topics into simple explanations
  • Train for Retirement Plan Administrator I certification
  • Handle additional responsibilities as needed

Requirements

  • 18+ years old
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Detail-oriented with proactive problem-solving skills
  • Customer service, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Basic math and analytical abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Associate's or bachelor's in business, finance, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of 401(K) structures, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations a plus
  • Ability to work independently and self-direct
