Marwood Nursing & Rehab is offering a structured training opportunity for a Resident Care Training Aide. In this role, you will complete a minimum training program to become a Certified Nurse Aide in the state of Michigan, learning essential functions of resident care.
What You'll Do
- Learn to assist residents with personal care tasks like bathing, dressing, grooming, using the toilet, eating, and drinking.
- Track vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and perform blood glucose monitoring.
- Understand hygiene protocols to protect yourself and patients from infection.
- Develop interpersonal skills: being patient, understanding, and empathetic, and communicating effectively.
- Respect resident rights by maintaining privacy, securing belongings, and promoting their right to make choices.
- Learn how to use mobility aids and help patients learn how to use them.
- Record treatments and medical information to share with nurses and doctors.
- Change bed linens to keep patients comfortable and clean.
- Safely transfer patients from a bed to a wheelchair, chair, or toilet.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to pass a negative drug screen.
- A negative tuberculosis test within a year.
- A valid Michigan driver’s license or State ID card.
- Ability to attend all scheduled classes.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years old; consideration given to a minor of 17 years old with parental consent.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located in Port Huron, Michigan.
