APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is looking for a DOT CDL Distributor and Service Truck Driver to join our team. You will operate a truck, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, load and unload materials, and work collaboratively with co-workers and managers on various projects.
What You'll Do
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections with appropriate documentation, following DOT guidelines and company policy.
- Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions while monitoring vehicle gauges during operation.
- Load and unload equipment or materials, which may involve manual unloading by hand or shovel.
- Assure product quality to the best of your ability and keep your truck in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform minor equipment servicing and maintenance, referring major problems to the Foreman.
- Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and co-workers, using constant eye contact and clear communication during backing and other maneuvers.
- Follow directions from your manager regarding daily tasks and jobsite expectations.
- Assist in training less-experienced employees on proper equipment operations, servicing, and repair.
- Perform general labor duties with a paving crew when necessary and report any problems to your manager.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and a "Fit for Work" physical.
- Valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document and a current driver’s license that meets state requirements (CDL, Class A and/or B).
- HazMat/Tanker endorsement required for the Distributor position.
- A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company standards.
- At least 18 years of age and ability to operate both standard and automatic trucks.
- Professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Willingness to travel, work away from home, and work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Strong teamwork orientation and willingness to assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Nice to Have
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Previous related experience in the construction field.
