About the Role

The Research Specialist will play a key role in advancing trauma care research by managing data, supporting study design, and contributing to publications and policy recommendations. The position requires analytical rigor, collaboration with clinical teams, and adherence to research standards in an academic medical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data related to trauma care outcomes
  • Assist in designing research studies focused on trauma system performance
  • Manage databases containing clinical and operational metrics
  • Support grant proposal development with data and literature reviews
  • Conduct statistical analyses using software such as R, Stata, or SPSS
  • Prepare summaries and visualizations of research findings for academic and non-academic audiences
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure data accuracy and relevance
  • Maintain compliance with institutional review board requirements
  • Contribute to manuscript writing for peer-reviewed journals
  • Present findings at conferences and stakeholder meetings
  • Monitor project timelines and deliverables
  • Ensure data security and confidentiality protocols are followed
  • Review current literature on trauma systems and public health policy
  • Assist in evaluating the impact of trauma care interventions
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Develop tools for data collection and process improvement
  • Support quality improvement initiatives within the trauma center
  • Translate research findings into actionable recommendations
  • Coordinate with external partners on joint research efforts
  • Maintain organized documentation of research processes and results
  • Stay current with advancements in trauma research methodologies
  • Assist in training new research team members
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization in data workflows
  • Contribute to reports for funding agencies and institutional leadership
  • Help standardize research protocols across projects
