Charles River Laboratories is hiring a Research Scientist I for our Safety Assessment site in Reno, NV. In this role, you will design and execute toxicology testing strategies and studies, contributing directly to our mission of improving the quality of people’s lives through excellent science.
What You'll Do
- Provide guidance to Sponsors regarding study design and study endpoints.
- Write study protocols and plans.
- Lead and be responsible for all aspects of a study, including in-life phases, data review and interpretation, and communicating results and updates to Sponsors.
- Be accountable for draft and final study reports.
- Ensure compliance with protocols, SOPs, BOPs, Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and relevant regulatory guidance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve study issues and provide advisory functions to clients on program design or data interpretation.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent in a scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience in contract research, academia, or the pharmaceutical industry.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for assigned study types, as well as Testing Facility SOPs and GLPs.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft® Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and standard laboratory calculations.
Nice to Have
- Related Master's degree (M.S./M.A.) or Ph.D./D.V.M.
