About the Role

Penn State University’s Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) is hiring a Research Project Manager to join its Project Management team. You will provide critical support for ICDS’s mission of facilitating research collaborations and providing computing tools and data analysis services, managing resources to ensure project success.

What You'll Do

  • Facilitate research computing projects, collaborating with investigators, sponsors, technical staff, and financial teams to deliver on project commitments.
  • Collect and manage data to monitor project resources and reports, ensuring successful execution.
  • Engage faculty to identify opportunities for direct cost recovery of ICDS resources and services.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in both research disciplines and project management.

What We're Looking For

  • A Master's Degree.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience coordinating and executing strategic objectives tied to research computing.
  • Expertise in relating effectively with faculty and managing relationships across institutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Impeccable ethics, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing and delivering communications internally within a university setting.
  • Ability to give talks to external audiences for workshops and annual reporting to funding agencies.
  • Ability to provide candid and constructive feedback to help others accept and implement findings across technical teams.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Project Management team within the Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS).

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary range: $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
