What You'll Do
Oversee the operational lifecycle of research grants, from proposal development to post-award management, ensuring alignment with sponsor and university standards. Coordinate scheduling and logistics for research team activities to promote efficient collaboration and resource utilization.
Prepare and submit grant applications and proposals, verifying compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Maintain comprehensive records, including financial reports, project documentation, and presentations, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
Manage research finances by tracking expenditures, reconciling accounts, and monitoring budgets to ensure adherence to funding guidelines. Handle salary allocations, student hiring, and travel reimbursements tied to research projects. Process complex procurement requests and purchase orders in line with contractual requirements.
Act as a liaison between principal investigators, department staff, and central administrative offices such as Sponsored Programs Accounting and Sponsored Research Services. Support multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities to meet shifting deadlines and reporting needs.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a relevant field
- Five years of experience in research administration or a similar role
- Familiarity with financial, procurement, human resources, and compliance protocols specific to sponsored research
- Proven ability in grant writing and proposal coordination, aligned with federal and state regulations
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks under time constraints
- Effective communication abilities for interacting with academic, administrative, and external stakeholders
- Attention to detail in maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
- Eligibility to work in the United States
Benefits
This position is onsite, located on campus, and operates in accordance with institutional policies and research contract requirements. Compensation ranges from $22 to $34 per hour, with opportunities for professional growth within a structured academic research environment.
