The Research Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the Stress, Pregnancy, and Health (SPAH) Kids study, a research initiative examining how socioeconomic factors and prenatal stress influence child development. This full-time, onsite position is based at a medical research facility in Evanston, IL, and requires collaboration across clinical, administrative, and research teams.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all phases of the research study, from participant recruitment to data analysis and reporting. This includes identifying and enrolling eligible families, obtaining informed consent, and conducting in-person and remote assessments with children and caregivers. Administer cognitive, language, and psychosocial evaluations, ensuring adherence to protocol and data integrity.
Manage regulatory requirements, including IRB submissions, consent form maintenance, and documentation for grant agencies. Support the Principal Investigator by preparing progress reports, contributing to manuscript and abstract development, and assisting with grant applications and budget tracking. Maintain accurate databases using REDCap and ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal research standards.
Lead team meetings, create agendas, and document minutes. Train and orient new research staff, monitor subject accrual, and report any protocol deviations or adverse events promptly. Conduct literature reviews, assist in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree required
- Minimum of two years of experience in research settings
- Proven ability to work independently with strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience working with children ages 15 months to 6 years
- Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with REDCap, SPSS, or Ripple is an advantage
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, data management, and problem-solving
