About the Role

The individual in this role will assist in designing research studies, gathering and interpreting data, and preparing results for dissemination in academic and public forums.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize quantitative and qualitative data from various sources
  • Conduct statistical analysis using appropriate software tools
  • Assist in developing research proposals and study designs
  • Prepare data visualizations and summary reports
  • Maintain accurate research records and documentation
  • Collaborate with senior researchers on manuscript development
  • Perform literature reviews to support ongoing projects
  • Ensure compliance with ethical and institutional review standards
  • Manage datasets with attention to data integrity and confidentiality
  • Support grant reporting requirements and progress updates
  • Participate in team meetings and research discussions
  • Identify trends and patterns in complex datasets
  • Assist in survey design and implementation
  • Clean and validate raw data for analysis
  • Translate research findings into accessible formats
  • Coordinate with external partners when necessary
  • Track project timelines and deliverables
  • Use version control for research materials
  • Stay current with methodological advancements
  • Contribute to presentations at academic conferences

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Advanced training in econometrics or data science
  • Experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques
  • Knowledge of web scraping or API integration
  • Experience with GIS or spatial data analysis
  • Background in education, labor, or urban economics
  • Multilingual communication abilities
  • Project management experience
  • Prior work in university research environments
