As a Reporting Functional Consultant in Workday's Professional Services team, you will partner with customers to design, build, and deploy reporting and analytics solutions that enable better decisions across HR and Finance. You will work within cross-functional project teams to deliver implementations, enhancements, and optimizations using Workday’s best practices and tools.
What You'll Do
- Partner with customers to design, build, and deploy reporting and analytics solutions
- Translate business questions into insightful dashboards and reports
- Leverage Workday’s reporting tools (e.g., core reports, dashboards, Discovery Boards, Prism if applicable) and best practices
- Work as part of cross-functional project teams (functional, technical, and project management) to deliver implementations, enhancements, and optimizations
- Conduct requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, knowledge transfer, and post-go-live support
- Depending on level (P2, P3, P4), own increasingly complex workstreams, client communication, and solution leadership
- Contribute to internal methodologies, assets, and practice growth
What We're Looking For
- For P2: 1–3 years of professional experience in consulting, analytics, reporting, finance, HR, or a related field
- For P3: Typically 3–6 years of professional experience, with at least 2–3 years in consulting or enterprise reporting/analytics roles
- For P4: Typically 6+ years of professional experience, with significant time in consulting and/or leading reporting/analytics solutions
- Experience building reports and/or dashboards in any enterprise or BI tool (e.g., Workday, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, other HR/ERP reporting)
- Exposure to SaaS/Cloud systems, preferably in HR, Payroll, or Finance
- Hands-on experience designing and building business-facing reports and dashboards (ideally in Workday, or similar HR/Finance systems)
- For P3: Experience leading discrete workstreams or small projects (e.g., owning the reporting track for a module or phase)
- For P4: Demonstrated experience as the primary reporting lead on multiple end-to-end implementations or large enhancement programs (ideally Workday)
- For P4: Experience working with senior customer stakeholders (HR, Finance, IT leadership)
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication
- Curious, proactive, and willing to learn new tools and domains
- Take ownership of outcomes and care about delivering a great customer experience
Nice to Have
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
- Hands-on experience with Workday Reporting tools (e.g., Advanced Reports, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, Prism Analytics, Worksheets)
- Domain knowledge in one or more areas: HCM, Talent, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Financials, or Planning
- Familiarity with data visualization and UX principles for dashboards
- Basic understanding of data integration concepts (sources, ETL, APIs, security) and how they impact reporting
- Experience working in global, virtual teams and/or with multinational customers
- Additional languages beyond English are a plus, depending on region
