About the Role
The position involves leading geospatial analysis efforts, applying remote sensing methodologies, and supporting data-driven decision-making through the integration of satellite and aerial imagery with GIS systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced analysis using satellite and aerial remote sensing data
- Develop and maintain geospatial databases and analytical workflows
- Support integration of imagery into GIS platforms for operational use
- Produce maps and visualizations to communicate analytical findings
- Collaborate with technical teams to refine data processing pipelines
- Apply machine learning or image classification techniques to extract features
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across geospatial products
- Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from stakeholders
- Maintain awareness of emerging remote sensing technologies
- Support quality assurance and validation of geospatial outputs
- Participate in cross-functional planning and technical reviews
- Document methodologies and analytical assumptions clearly
- Optimize processing scripts for efficiency and scalability
- Troubleshoot technical issues in data acquisition or processing
- Assist in defining requirements for new geospatial tools
- Provide subject matter expertise during project execution
- Evaluate sensor capabilities and data suitability for tasks
- Support change detection analysis using time-series imagery
- Work with classified and unclassified data environments as needed
- Ensure compliance with data handling and security protocols
Nice to Have
- Advanced degree in a geospatial or data science discipline
- Experience with deep learning models for image analysis
- Familiarity with AWS or Google Earth Engine platforms
- Project leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience in operational intelligence or defense applications
- Certification in GIS or remote sensing technologies
- Published work in remote sensing or geospatial analysis
- Knowledge of LiDAR or radar data processing
- Experience with real-time or near-real-time data systems
- Background in environmental monitoring or disaster response
