EX Squared is hiring a Remote Senior Underwriting Counsel to provide high-level legal and underwriting expertise for complex title insurance transactions. You will be a key advisor, ensuring risk assessment and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and underwrite complex title insurance commitments, policies, and endorsements.
- Provide authoritative legal opinions on title matters, including curative requirements.
- Review surveys, plats, and legal documents to identify and resolve title defects.
- Advise internal underwriting staff, agents, and customers on underwriting guidelines.
- Stay current with statutes, regulations, and case law affecting real estate and title insurance.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor degree and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
- 8+ years of direct experience in title insurance underwriting and legal counsel.
- Deep expertise in real property law, title examination, and underwriting best practices.
- Proven ability to handle sophisticated commercial and residential transactions.
- Excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills.
Work Mode
This is a fully remote position, requiring a self-directed professional comfortable working in a distributed environment.
