About the Role
This position involves delivering psychiatric care remotely to patients across various settings. The practitioner will conduct evaluations, diagnose mental health disorders, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications within their scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via secure telehealth systems
- Diagnose and manage psychiatric disorders in adults and adolescents
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Prescribe and adjust psychotropic medications following clinical guidelines
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up appointments
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams when necessary
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards
- Respond to patient messages within established timeframes
- Assess for risk of harm to self or others during evaluations
- Provide crisis intervention when clinically appropriate
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions
- Promote treatment adherence and engagement
- Stay current with best practices in psychiatric care
- Participate in quality assurance activities
- Adhere to ethical standards in telepsychiatry
- Manage a high-volume patient panel efficiently
- Utilize evidence-based assessment tools
- Support continuity of care across treatment settings
