What You'll Do
Collaborate with leadership to uphold accurate and ethical coding practices that support proper reimbursement and regulatory compliance. Conduct regular internal coding evaluations and perform random, pre-bill quality reviews to ensure data integrity. Design and deliver targeted education for coders and physicians, addressing trends and knowledge gaps identified through audit findings.
Serve as a primary point of contact for coding guidance, offering timely responses to inquiries from team members. Work with external auditors when corporate reviews occur, and assist in orienting staff to coding systems and software platforms. Develop and refine assessment strategies, including follow-up processes for individual coders, management, and clinical providers.
Apply expertise in ICD-10, CPT, APCs, and MS-DRGs during educational sessions and quality initiatives. Contribute coding support as necessary to maintain workflow efficiency.
