Responsibilities
- Act as a clinical expert in internal medicine, endocrinology, rheumatology, primary care, obstetrics, women’s health, and maternal-fetal medicine.
- Partner with leadership to implement and maintain evidence-based and regulatory-compliant pharmacy practices.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and healthcare teams to create clear clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Travel to various sites as needed to evaluate and improve clinical workflows and processes.
- Maintain advanced knowledge and application in designated specialty areas.
- Understand operational workflows of frontline staff in clinics, inpatient units, and other care environments.
- Represent pharmacy services on system-level committees and service lines as an active or invited member.
- Attend and contribute to the System Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee.
- Engage with the Hospitalist Service Line to support coordinated care.
- Support initiatives within the Primary Care Service Line.
- Participate in the Women’s & Newborn Care Service Line to enhance patient outcomes.
- Serve on the System Residency Advisory Committee.
- May be assigned as coordinator for the System Residency Advisory Committee.
- Act as the main point of contact for residency program coordination across the system.
- Lead strategic planning, oversight, and coordination for the System Glycemic Management Committee.
- Evaluate and assess protocols for system-wide Collaborative Care Agreements.
- Submit documentation, reviews, and feedback to the System Pharmacy Credentialing and Privileging Committee.
- Work with clinical teams and physicians to ensure appropriate medication use.
- Conduct annual medication use evaluations (MUE) to support safety and efficacy.
- Complete required annual continuing education credits.
- Deliver at least one annual educational presentation or in-service, preferably with CE accreditation.
- Perform yearly reviews of drug classes to inform formulary decisions.
- Support ongoing expansion of service-line initiatives as needed.
- Review and update order sets based on clinical needs and guidelines.
- Create or revise pharmacy-related policies and procedures as necessary.

- Must be willing to travel to facilities for practice and process evaluations when required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
