Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate reinsurance accounting records and general ledger entries
- Prepare and review financial statements related to reinsurance activities
- Analyze reinsurance contracts for proper accounting treatment
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with underwriting and actuarial teams on data needs
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Reconcile reinsurance accounts on a regular basis
- Track and report on reinsurance recoverables and payables
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings
- Monitor changes in accounting standards affecting reinsurance
- Provide accounting guidance for new and existing reinsurance programs
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly
- Generate periodic reinsurance performance reports
- Utilize accounting software and enterprise systems efficiently
- Participate in system implementation and process improvement initiatives
- Ensure data integrity across financial platforms
- Support client onboarding and transition activities
- Maintain documentation for accounting workflows and controls
- Coordinate with external partners on data exchange
- Respond to accounting inquiries from internal stakeholders
- Contribute to special projects as assigned
