Position Overview
A Registered Nurse is sought to join the Observation Unit at North Shore Medical Center, working overnight shifts from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. This 16-bed unit operates within the Emergency Department and provides short-term monitoring and treatment for patients requiring extended evaluation. Nurses in this role deliver age-appropriate care and support seamless transitions between emergency services and inpatient units.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled nursing care aligned with clinical standards and patient needs across the lifespan
- Carry out core nursing duties within the defined scope of practice and regulatory guidelines
- Complete structured training in emergency nursing procedures and protocols
- Support the Emergency Department as needed through rotational assignments
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current, active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred
- Two or more years of experience in Emergency or Telemetry settings
- Recent experience in acute-care emergency environments
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly pay ranges from $39.27 to $94.69, with base rates determined by qualifications, experience, education, and certifications. Total compensation may include shift differentials, premiums, and performance-based bonuses.
