AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse Med Surg Oncology to join our team in OCALA, Florida. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care for oncology patients within a medical-surgical setting. What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments evaluating physiological, psychological, and lifestyle factors.
- Develop, implement, and regularly revise individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient medical record.
- Continuously evaluate care plan effectiveness and adjust interventions to improve outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulations.
- Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
- Supervise and delegate care provided by members of the healthcare team.
- Engage in professional development and performance improvement activities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to code situations to stabilize patients.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
- 1+ year of experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Ability to work as a team player within a unit
- Effective verbal, oral communication, and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English (read, verbal, and written skills)
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs
- Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning for patient assessment and care plan revision
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's of Nursing
- EKG certification (based on patient population)
