Henry Ford Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team in Southfield, Michigan. In this role, you will provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and teaching.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and family.
- Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
- Participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensure implementation of solutions.
- Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
- Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
- Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
- Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
Nice to Have
- BSN preferred.
- 2-years of previous OR experience highly preferred.
