About the Role

Duke University is hiring a Structural Heart Program Manager to provide oversight and coordination for a high-acuity clinical program. This role is operationally focused on ensuring seamless workflows and patient care, primarily for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and other percutaneous valve procedures. You will work closely with Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, APPs, Nurse Clinicians, and a multidisciplinary team.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure a standard approach to patient care from referral through post-procedure follow-up, facilitating seamless transitions and timely interventions.
  • Ensure the completion of comprehensive patient assessments, including frailty testing, risk scoring, and medication reviews.
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing and procedure scheduling in collaboration with the Structural Heart Program Specialist and broader team.
  • Participate in weekly patient case presentations and valve conferences, ensuring accurate EMR documentation is maintained.
  • Support a standardized approach to scheduling procedures post-conference and dedicated virtual visit follow-ups.
  • Oversee the development of a portfolio of educational materials for patients, families, and staff related to structural heart procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison among cardiology, cardiac surgery, anesthesia, imaging, and other departments to resolve care barriers.
  • Monitor compliance with CMS and registry requirements while supporting data collection and quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate on program development, new device implementation, and process improvement projects.
  • Initiate and coordinate outreach programs and education for hospital staff around Structural Heart procedures and TAVR.

What We're Looking For

  • BSN or higher degree.
  • Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact state.
  • BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of specialty nursing in an acute setting, with preference for experience in cardiothoracic surgery or cardiology.

You will work in close coordination with Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Structural/Surgical/Inpatient Advanced Practice Providers (APP), Nurse Clinicians, a Structural Program Specialist, and the broader multidisciplinary team.
