Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Director of Human Resources and school leadership on employee issues, performance concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Investigate employee concerns and complaints and provide guidance and recommendations for resolution.
- Ensure that all employee relations activities comply with school policies and employment laws, providing support and guidance to leadership as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Monitor HR systems and maintain accurate data for reporting and decision-making
- Stay informed on FMLA regulations to provide guidance and support as needed
- Understand ADA accommodations and assist leadership in applying them appropriately.
- Track staff retention and analyze trends to support organizational planning.
- Maintain the exit process and conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and inform HR strategies.
- Track staff educational training and professional development to ensure all required goals are completed.
- Advise school leadership on the creation, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and training to school leaders and staff on HR policies, ensuring understanding and proper application.
- Monitor adherence to HR policies and recommend improvements or adjustments as needed.
- Partner with leadership to guide the performance evaluation process and ensure staff professional development goals are met.
- Support school leaders in providing coaching and mentoring staff to foster professional growth and improve performance.
- Lead HR projects assigned by the Director of HR, including process improvements, policy updates, and organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership on HR-related change initiatives and school-wide projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience in a generalist role; experience in a school or educational setting is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment law, employee relations, and HR compliance.
Nice to Have
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred; other relevant certifications or credentials in HR or education are a plus
