Regional Fresh Specialist
This role leads the execution of Fresh department standards across multiple districts, ensuring alignment with regional goals and operational directives. The specialist works closely with District Managers and field teams to uphold quality, safety, and efficiency in all perishable departments including Produce, Meat/Seafood, Deli, Bakery, and Floral.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent implementation of Fresh operational priorities, including department readiness, code dating, rotation, and sanitation practices.
- Coach field teams on production accuracy, labor efficiency, and adherence to brand and food safety standards.
- Analyze sales, margin, and shrink performance to identify improvement opportunities and support corrective actions.
- Lead initiatives to reduce Known Loss by addressing root causes of waste and reinforcing disciplined inventory practices.
- Support promotional events, seasonal transitions, and process improvements across the region.
- Strengthen store-level execution by translating corporate Fresh programs into actionable field directives.
- Collaborate with Store Support Center partners to align field feedback with strategic planning and program development.
- Monitor compliance with food safety, sanitation, and operational audit requirements.
- Conduct competitive assessments to inform merchandising, pricing, and service strategies.
- Assist in new store openings and remodels with a focus on Fresh department readiness and setup.
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least five years of retail or fresh operations leadership experience. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. The ideal candidate influences outcomes through collaboration, demonstrates operational expertise, and supports performance improvement through data-driven coaching.
Education and Skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred. Experience managing multi-unit field execution and delivering performance feedback is highly valued.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position with responsibility across a defined region. Travel may be required to support stores, conduct audits, and lead training. Final placement is based on candidate location.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $100,000 – $130,000, with eligibility for short-term incentive compensation.
