InterContinental Grenada (IHG) is looking for a Regional Director, Commercial. In this role, you will provide hands-on sales, marketing, and channel strategy consultation to owners, management companies, hotel Director of Sales, and General Managers for IHG franchised hotels. Your focus will be on developing strategic action plans to drive measurable, incremental sales revenue and improve market share.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with FPS to ensure a unified and seamless process for hotels and clients.
- Partner with the Franchise Revenue team on overarching sales and revenue strategy.
- Develop relationships with key counterparts in major management companies.
- Diagnose root causes of performance issues at hotels, prioritize findings, and create specific action plans based on data analysis to deliver incremental revenue.
- Analyze market research data to identify performance gaps and determine a hotel's competitive strengths and weaknesses.
- Determine and deliver appropriate consultation with stakeholders, either remotely or in person, based on hotel assessments.
- Develop tactical and strategic sales and marketing plans designed to maximize hotel revenues from local, regional, and national markets.
- Identify potential clients and assist local sales teams in developing account penetration plans.
- Consult with local sales teams on best practices, IHG sales tools, and brand information to enhance the sales process.
- Assess current channel strategy and consult on necessary actions to drive revenue through optimization.
- Advise on future channel strategy to maximize conversion, including web content, photos, and channel-based pricing packages.
- Communicate with FPS and other internal stakeholders regarding next steps for hotels, owners, or management companies to execute action plans.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of progressive, relevant work-related experience.
- At least 5 years in hotel operations management or relevant sales and marketing, including the development and execution of tactical sales programs and business plans.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt your consultation style based on hotel complexity, from limited service to full service and extended-stay products.
- Ability to quickly build trusted relationships with owners, hotels, and internal IHG stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and sales principles, including channel strategy.
- Ability to interpret hotel performance data, diagnose root causes of issues, and develop tailored action plans that drive revenue and market share.
- Ability to understand market competition, identify performance gaps against competitors, and execute strategies to improve performance.
- Understanding of a hotel's business mix and the ability to develop segmentation strategies and plans.
- Understanding of daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal demand, booking patterns, pricing, and the ability to identify demand generators.
- Ability to advise and assist in developing business travel strategy and executing the RFP process to improve revenue performance.
- Ability to interpret data from resources and systems that provide insight on business travel accounts and travel agencies at top-producing hotels.
- Experience working with hotels individually to develop account plans to increase share of business.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Hotel Management, Business, or a relevant field.
- Regional or multi-hotel corporate experience.
