Regional Development Applications Engineer
Role Overview
This position plays a key technical role in supporting advanced overlay measurement systems used in semiconductor fabrication. You will act as a bridge between engineering, sales, and customer teams, delivering expert-level applications support to accelerate product adoption and ensure optimal performance in real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-level technical support for complex overlay systems in collaboration with internal engineering and external customer teams
- Lead in-house and on-site customer demonstrations, including competitive head-to-head evaluations
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate and improve tool and subcomponent performance
- Develop and optimize measurement recipes for advanced optical applications
- Support alpha, beta, and pilot-phase deployments to enable successful product ramp-up at customer sites
- Lead remote and on-site troubleshooting efforts, providing escalation support to field teams
- Generate applications notes and best practices based on data analysis and testing outcomes
- Collaborate with algorithm and systems teams to develop offline data analysis tools
- Create training content and transfer technical knowledge to global support teams
Qualifications
Advanced degree in Physics, Optics, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or a related field is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to work independently while contributing to team goals.
Proficiency in English is essential, along with experience collaborating across diverse cultural environments. Significant international travel (> 50%) is a core requirement of this role.
Experience with Matlab or Python is highly valued and supports data analysis and automation tasks.
