What You'll Do
In this role, you will deliver expert-level applications support for advanced metrology systems used in semiconductor fabrication. You will partner with engineering, sales, and marketing teams internally, as well as customer engineering teams externally, to ensure smooth product integration and performance optimization.
You will lead new product introduction initiatives, including product characterization, alpha and beta testing, and pilot tool support during ramp-up phases. When technical issues arise, you will serve as a key escalation point, directing both remote and on-site troubleshooting efforts. Through controlled experimentation, you will assess tool and subcomponent capabilities and create sophisticated recipes to model intricate optical applications.
You will also develop training materials, including best known methods and knowledge transfer documents, and support global field teams. Customer-facing responsibilities include conducting demonstrations, head-to-head evaluations at customer sites, and delivering technical training. You may contribute to technical publications presented at industry forums or published in journals.
Requirements
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline
- Strong foundation in technical principles and problem-solving
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and work effectively across teams
- High level of initiative and self-direction
- Willingness to travel extensively, with more than half of time spent on the road
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in semiconductor processing or semiconductor equipment manufacturing is highly valued.
Technical Stack
This role involves working with optical film thickness measurement systems, optical critical dimension (CD) metrology, composition and resistivity measurement platforms, and integrated metrology hardware and software solutions.
