As an Instructional Recruiter, you’ll play a central role in identifying, engaging, and placing talented instructional staff who are aligned with a mission to close the opportunity gap. You’ll work closely with school leaders to define hiring needs, refine candidate profiles, and ensure every classroom is staffed with committed professionals.
Sourcing & Talent Acquisition
- Use advanced search techniques, including Boolean and strategic sourcing, to identify qualified candidates across platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, WECAN, and social media.
- Develop and maintain pipelines for hard-to-fill positions through targeted outreach, community engagement, and talent communities.
- Design and execute outreach campaigns that authentically convey the role’s impact and expectations.
Hiring Process & Candidate Experience
- Lead resume reviews, initial screenings, and candidate assessments to ensure alignment with instructional standards and school culture.
- Ensure candidates move swiftly through the hiring funnel, aiming for interviews within two weeks of application and hiring decisions within three days of final interviews.
- Coordinate hiring events, fairs, and selection days to connect top talent directly with school leaders.
- Deliver at least two strong candidates per opening and track offer acceptance trends to improve outcomes.
Partnership & Strategy
- Collaborate with principals and regional teams through regular check-ins to assess hiring progress, refine priorities, and address challenges.
- Train school-based hiring teams on equitable interviewing practices and candidate engagement.
- Share data insights and hiring metrics to inform decision-making and improve retention.
- Strengthen relationships with universities, professional associations, and community organizations to expand diverse talent networks.
Onboarding & Community Engagement
- Support recruitment events on campuses and in the community to build brand presence and attract mission-aligned candidates.
- Partner with HR and pre-boarding teams to ensure a seamless transition from offer to first day.
- Conduct early pulse checks with new hires to identify support needs and inform retention strategies.
- Represent the organization at career fairs, university visits, and local gatherings to deepen community ties.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proven ability to build relationships with educators and hiring managers.
- Experience using job boards, resume databases, and social platforms for talent sourcing.
- Familiarity with PHR/SHRM certification is a plus, but not required.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Milwaukee, requiring regular access to the area. Occasional evenings and weekends are needed for recruitment events and interviews. The ideal candidate is driven by equity, inspired by community impact, and committed to building pathways for all students to succeed.
