591x Varian Medical Systems, Inc. is seeking a Radiation Oncology Clinical Implementation Consultant to deliver expert consulting and training for our radiation therapy products. This remote role leverages deep clinical expertise to ensure customers maximize product utilization to meet their business needs, focusing on patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and cost containment.
What You'll Do
- Deliver consulting project activities as a subject matter expert in radiation therapy through medium- to long-term engagements.
- Assist customers in developing best practice clinical operations with an emphasis on patient outcomes, patient care efficiencies, cost containment/reduction, and customer value propositions.
- Evaluate business processes, recommend process changes, document processes, identify problems, configure databases and systems, specify hardware/software, manage change, test strategies, identify training needs, and deploy solutions.
- Assist in the creation and development of consultative services and develop relevant metrics that demonstrate achievement of clinical, operational, and financial values.
- Actively support product training and implementation through defined processes, eLearning, onsite/remote training, and follow-up.
- Work as the clinical resource of the Varian project implementation team as an expert in content curation, product configuration, testing, and workflow.
- Own workflow current state to future state mapping with associated gap analysis and drive detailed requirements gathering sessions through on-site and remote analysis and customer interviews.
- Work with the technical implementation team in translating workflow requirements to actionable technical configuration tasks.
- Develop and help drive customer-specific user adoption strategies and best practices.
- Provide onsite support during system Go-Live and immediate post-Go-Live periods.
- Achieve assigned KSO targets; Build Client relationships; Ensure long-term Client loyalty; Execute Varian implementation processes; Ensure Client satisfaction; Provide effective company representation; Exemplify Varian professionalism.
What We're Looking For
- BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical operations driving strategic and business planning, financial and operational performance.
- RT, RTT or CMD with a history of at least 3 years of direct patient care experience.
- Management and aptitude of standardized guidelines preferred.
- 5+ years combined experience with Oncology setting and Healthcare Technology vendor(s).
- Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills with a proven track record of collaborative and consensus-building.
- Obtains and completes Varian training plan specific to assigned responsibility.
- Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access, unless prohibited by law.
- Product knowledge and ability to translate products and services into solutions.
- Industry knowledge from a commercial, clinical, and healthcare executive perspective.
- Organizational acumen/skills, Executive presence, Responsiveness and reliability, Problem-solving skills, Interpersonal skills, Verbal and written communication skills, Presentation skills.
- Proficient in utilizing business tools: Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must have knowledge as it relates to quality, performance improvement, change theory, and health systems.
- Proven basic IT knowledge, especially as it relates to intraoperability and infrastructure.
- Ability to travel up to 75%.
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, subject to legally required and approved accommodations.
Nice to Have
- Ability to assess baseline workflows and to develop future state workflows through the implementation of various Varian solutions.
- Understand patient-to-care-team relationships.
- Possess an aptitude in standardized guidelines involving multiple acute and chronic disease diagnosis and treatment modalities.
- Possess an understanding of key elements that drive healthcare organizations’ business perspectives and the key metrics for payers and providers that focus on quality, patient satisfaction, and cost-based results.
- Ability to work in matrixed and unstructured environments.
- Clinical experience in patient care working in an Oncology setting (hospital or free-standing) as a Radiation Therapist, Dosimetrist, Physicist, Oncology Nurse or similar licensed position.
- Solid understanding of medical informatics standards and knowledge/experience in working with clinical data.
- Self-starter, self-motivated, high level of initiative within a fast-paced constantly evolving Healthcare environment.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with a proven track record of collaboration and consensus building.
- Result focused, ability to solve complex problems and resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
- Communicates and presents effectively; ability to communicate with customer's C-level and with internal Management.
- Leads through influence.
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
