What You'll Do
Lead the full lifecycle of quality management, from component intake and supplier evaluation to production oversight and handling of returned products. Develop and refine inspection protocols, acceptance standards, and test coverage for hardware platforms including M.2, PCIe, and single-board computers.
Direct the return material authorization (RMA) process, conducting root cause investigations, implementing corrective actions, and communicating outcomes to internal teams and external partners. Maintain dashboards tracking key quality indicators such as defect rates, yield performance, and return frequency, and deliver regular updates to leadership.
Qualify and monitor suppliers and manufacturing partners through audits, performance scoring, and compliance with frameworks like PPAP and APQP. Lead non-conformance resolution, validate corrective actions, and collaborate with procurement to improve quality for critical components such as SoCs, memory, and power systems.
Integrate quality checkpoints into new product introduction (NPI) workflows, defining exit criteria for validation phases and ensuring design for manufacturing and test (DFM/DFT) feedback is implemented. Support smooth transitions from development to mass production by driving yield learning and process maturity.
Oversee regulatory compliance for all product lines, managing certifications including CE, FCC, UL, RoHS, REACH, and WEEE. Coordinate with engineering and product teams during certification cycles and maintain documentation for ongoing compliance. Serve as the internal authority on regulatory quality matters, working closely with legal and product functions.
Establish and maintain a company-wide quality management system aligned with ISO 9001 standards. Promote a structured problem-solving culture using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa diagrams. Ensure all quality records and process controls are audit-ready and consistently applied across contract manufacturers and design partners.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years in quality roles within hardware or electronics manufacturing
- Proven experience in incoming and outgoing quality control (IQC/OQC) and supplier quality management
- Background in semiconductor, SoC, or system-level hardware development environments
- Direct experience managing ODMs and contract manufacturers, including on-site audits
- Proficiency with FMEA, CAPA, SPC, control plans, and other core quality tools
- Track record supporting NPI transitions through DVT and PVT phases into volume production
- Strong data analysis skills with ability to interpret quality metrics and drive improvements
- Fluent communication in English, with experience collaborating across global teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI accelerators, PCIe or M.2 form factors, or AI-enabled single-board computers
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent quality systems certification
- Background in fast-moving hardware startups or scale-up environments
