Allegheny Health Network is seeking an experienced Pulmonary Function Therapist to join our team. You will provide comprehensive pulmonary function diagnostic testing, ambulatory oximetry testing, arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary rehabilitation, and bronchoscopy assistance for referred patients.
What You'll Do
- Perform all pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas punctures, bronchoscopy assistance, oximetry and home oxygen evaluations, exercise and stress testing, and pre-surgical evaluations.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation following Clinical Practice Guidelines from the AARC and AACVPR.
- Maintain proper calibration, quality control, and analysis of all pulmonary diagnostic and rehabilitation equipment.
- Maintain required records of preventive maintenance and repair functions.
- Adhere to proper infection prevention protocols when cleaning reusable patient equipment.
- Perform all billing documentation and maintain departmental records according to policy.
- Organize and prioritize workload and schedule patient testing efficiently.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
- Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or a Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to TPP expiration.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Nice to Have
- Certified and/or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Two years’ experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine within a hospital setting.
- Specific experience with pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assistance, and pulmonary rehabilitation.
