About the Role
The practitioner will deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan, including conducting evaluations, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and providing therapy within a multidisciplinary framework.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' mental health through comprehensive psychiatric assessments
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders using current diagnostic criteria
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services
- Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing standards
- Participate in care coordination for high-risk patients
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Support patient education on mental health conditions and treatments
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies as needed
- Conduct follow-up appointments to track therapeutic outcomes
- Uphold patient confidentiality and ethical standards
- Utilize electronic health records for patient management
- Work within established clinical protocols and guidelines
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Foster a trauma-informed care environment
- Promote cultural competence in patient interactions
- Coordinate referrals to community resources
- Participate in peer review and case discussions
- Adhere to state and federal prescribing regulations
- Engage in supervision and consultation when required
- Support continuity of care across treatment settings
