The Environmental Protection Authority is hiring a Prosecution Support Officer to provide essential administrative support to the Police Prosecution Service (PPS). Your work will enable the effective operation of the PPS office, managing prosecution files and being an important part of the wider Criminal Justice Sector.
What You'll Do
- Work with, process, and administratively manage prosecution files.
- Record and extract relevant information from files, checking for accuracy and completeness.
- Administer necessary follow-ups as directed by PPS staff.
- Use and manage databases and spreadsheets.
- Respond to and/or direct queries that come into the PPS office.

- Strong administrative capability, including accurate data entry and effective file management.
- Ability to effectively communicate with PPS colleagues, district and national office staff, and external stakeholders.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make sound decisions and identify problems early.
- Skills to manage time, priorities, and responsibilities.
- A commitment to excellence using Office Management software, Justice Sector databases and processes, and knowledge of key New Zealand Statutes.
- Accountability for performance and responsibility for your own contribution and development.
- Ability to seek opportunities to develop your own skills, knowledge, and experience.
