Cigna Healthcare is hiring a remote Proposal Strategist to support the sales process within our Government and Education (G&E) vertical. You will own the end-to-end creation of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, from initial receipt through final submission, crafting strategically positioned content that supports our win strategy.
What You'll Do
- Manage the proposal process from initial receipt through final proposal construction and client binder production.
- Review questionnaires for tone, flow, and accuracy, ensuring responses are current and complete in a deadline-driven environment.
- Set up and facilitate strategy calls for assigned proposals, demonstrating product knowledge of the government procurement process.
- Identify and outsource questions requiring specialized content to the appropriate Content Writer.
- Effectively manage timelines and negotiate delivery dates with Sales, Content Writers, and Matrix Partners.
- Provide timely and consistent communication to Sales, Matrix Partners, and Content Writers.
- Respond to client questionnaires with unique responses that highlight the sales strategy and Cigna’s competitive advantage.
- Own and ensure the final proposal binder meets all government bid requirements and is ready on schedule.
- Manage multiple proposals simultaneously, effectively managing development and delivery timelines.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree, or at least 2 years of relevant proposal and/or health care experience.
- Strong writing skills, including the ability to create proposal responses from scratch with minimal or no direction.
- Critical thinking skills to quickly absorb large quantities of information and synthesize it into cohesive messaging.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate conference calls with large groups.
- High degree of organizational ability and strong project management skills.
- Strong work ethic, with a drive to learn, collaborative spirit, and can-do/will-do attitude.
- Customer-focused, detail-oriented approach, and not afraid to take on a challenge.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have
- Solid understanding of Cigna's products and services.
- Government procurement experience.
Team & Environment
This role is part of Cigna's U.S. Commercial RFP Strategy and Operations team. You will primarily support G&E business but may also provide cross-support to other business types and sales segments.
