About the Role

CDW is hiring a Proposal Specialist - Federal to support our Federal Sales Team. This role is central to maximizing company revenue by managing the entire lifecycle of proposal and bid responses, including RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs. You'll combine strategic analysis with precise execution to create submissions that win business.

What You'll Do

  • Research customer environments, politics, and key factors to inform winning response strategies.
  • Assemble and lead the proposal project team, defining roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
  • Engage internal resources such as Contract Negotiators and Program Managers, as well as external partners and vendors.
  • Assist in developing pricing strategies that account for costs to maximize profit.
  • Prepare professionally written responses that specifically address customer requirements, ensure compliance, and consistently position CDW for success.
  • Document and report on project status, capture information, and conduct post-submission closeout activities.
  • Lead post-submission exercises such as presentations, clarifications, and best and final offers.
  • Contribute to shared department resources like content libraries and template development.
  • Attend industry days or pre-proposal functions when required.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years of writing or editorial experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Office Applications and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Deadline-focused with the ability to work effectively under time constraints.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
  • Must communicate effectively and constructively with management, peers, and coworkers.

Nice to Have

  • General IT product, contract, and customer knowledge.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing requirements.
  • Familiarity with proposal assembly software.
  • Professional certifications such as APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) or PMI (Project Management Institute).

Team & Environment

You will work directly with the applicable Federal Sales Team to support their proposal and bid efforts.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: $67,000 - $97,200 depending on experience and skill set.
  • Annual bonus target of 5%, subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
