Lead the strategic development and execution of high-value project proposals within a forward-thinking organization focused on satellite-based 5G and IoT innovation. This role is central to securing and managing institutional funding, coordinating technical and financial inputs, and ensuring compliance across multinational collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and track funding calls from ESA, EU institutions, EDA, and national programs, particularly in Greece and across Europe.
- Orchestrate end-to-end proposal development, defining objectives, work breakdowns, timelines, risk plans, and compliance frameworks.
- Lead internal teams and external partners to deliver complete, high-quality submissions on schedule.
- Develop comprehensive project budgets covering personnel, equipment, travel, subcontracting, and capital costs.
- Monitor financial performance, spending, and reporting throughout project lifecycles.
- Form and manage multi-organization consortia, aligning partners with project goals, budgets, and delivery timelines.
- Act as primary liaison with ESA, the European Commission, and national agencies for institutional projects.
- Manage supplier engagement, including RFP/RFQ processes, evaluations, negotiations, and purchase order issuance.
- Oversee supplier deliverables, invoicing, and contractual compliance.
- Ensure adherence to ECSS, PA/QA, and other applicable quality and project management standards.
- Prepare technical and financial reports, milestone documentation, and project closure materials.
- Support resource planning and coordinate with engineering teams to maintain project momentum.
- Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and project meetings, including international travel.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a comparable field from a recognized institution.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in space or telecom engineering, with a focus on proposal and bid management.
- Proven track record managing proposals submitted to ESA and EU programs.
- Solid understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical and business negotiations.
- Experience preparing and managing formal proposal documentation and applications.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions, and delegate effectively.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with a mindset suited to fast-evolving, entrepreneurial environments.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Must be a resident of Europe or hold a valid European work visa.
Preferred Experience
- Experience leading large, multi-partner consortia and securing major funded projects.
- Familiarity with adapting ECSS standards for space projects, including PA/QA and project management frameworks.
- Knowledge of satellite communications, 5G networks, and direct-to-device technologies.
