About the Role

Lead the execution of cutting-edge telecommunications projects focused on satellite-based 4G/5G/6G, Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity. This role drives technical coordination and project delivery across R&D and commercial initiatives in a rapidly scaling space technology setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee satellite communication projects from concept through delivery, ensuring adherence to technical scope, budget, and timeline targets.
  • Coordinate engineering teams developing 3GPP-based systems, including NTN, direct-to-device (D2D), beamforming, roaming, and positioning (PNT) technologies.
  • Lead R&D efforts in end-to-end satellite-enabled telecom stacks and support proposal development for institutional funding programs.
  • Act as the main liaison with customers, suppliers, and agencies such as ESA and the European Commission.
  • Develop and manage technical and commercial proposals, including work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments.
  • Align internal teams across engineering, operations, and management to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Monitor performance metrics, control costs, and track progress against milestones.
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure deliverables meet project goals.
  • Identify and mitigate technical and programmatic risks in collaboration with engineering leads.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, product assurance, and relevant standards, including ECSS where applicable.
  • Produce documentation for reviews, technical reporting, and project closure.

Qualifications

  • PhD or MSc in Telecommunications, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in telecom, satellite communications, or wireless systems.
  • Understanding of 3GPP standards (4G/5G/6G) and experience with NTN and IoT connectivity.
  • Proven track record managing R&D or institutional projects, particularly with space or telecom agencies.
  • Strong grasp of project management principles: budgeting, scheduling, and risk analysis.
  • Experience drafting technical proposals and project documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical, managerial, and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Must be based in Europe or hold a valid European work permit.

Preferred Background

  • Experience applying ECSS standards in satellite communication projects.
  • Technical knowledge of 5G NTN or direct-to-device system architectures.
  • Background in quality or product assurance for space or telecom systems.
  • Familiarity with PNT, satellite-to-UAV links, or advanced wireless R&D.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid work model and is located in Europe. You’ll contribute to flagship EU space missions within an innovative, collaborative, and high-growth environment that supports career advancement and regular team engagement.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Eligible candidates may receive a 50% income tax exemption on salary, subject to Luxembourg regulations.
  • Opportunities for professional growth in transformative technology development.
  • Participation in company-wide events and team-building activities.
