We are seeking a Project Planning & Scheduling Specialist to serve as a trusted scheduling expert supporting complex, high-impact transportation projects in Houston, TX, and New York City. In this role, you will lead CPM development and analysis, guide critical path decisions, support claims and delay analysis, and partner closely with project teams from design through construction, while mentoring and elevating junior scheduling staff.
What You'll Do
- Review and develop schedules for the construction of highways, bridges, and railways.
- Provide expert review and analysis of Contractor Critical Path Method (CPM) Progress Schedules and construction schedule logic changes.
- Analyze and prepare schedule fragnets and delay event timelines for construction project delays.
- Develop and/or review Suggested Preliminary Construction Schedules during the final design stage.
- Lead Scheduler on major construction projects and train other scheduling personnel.
- Analyze schedule data to identify key project issues and support the development of plans for proposals.
- Assist in leading junior staff, tracking corrective actions, and coordinating schedule input.
- Identify and analyze schedule variances, update and produce scheduling management reports.
- Use drawings and specifications for schedule development and develop CPM schedule logic for engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Resource load schedule, perform schedule risk analysis, and assemble data for schedule updating.
- Manage scope control and change management, incorporating directed changes into the schedule baseline.
- Measure progress, review contractor invoices, and assist in performance measurement and project reporting.
- Participate in and lead project planning and scheduling review meetings.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, plus 8 years of related experience.
- Experience in Oracle Primavera P6 software.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Capability to read and interpret plans relating to highway, bridge, and rail construction.
- Experience in creating schedules to determine contract time.
- Experience with construction methods for highways, bridges, and rails.
- Competency in reviewing construction schedules.
