Telford, England, United Kingdom Contract

Wipro is hiring a Project Manager

About the Role

Wipro is seeking a Project Manager for an 18-month fixed-term contract to play a crucial role in a major migration programme. You will report to the Migration Programme Manager, leading a dedicated workstream to ensure it successfully achieves programme aims while delivering excellent customer outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and oversee the workstream delivery approach, ensuring the transition minimises risk, preserves critical business processes, and delivers a seamless experience for end users.
  • Track progress through KRIs and MI reporting, ensuring senior stakeholders have clear visibility into migration readiness and any associated risks.
  • Manage RAID logs and ensure robust risk mitigation strategies, identifying potential challenges early and implementing appropriate solutions to protect customer outcomes.
  • Engage and manage relationships with third-party providers, ensuring effective collaboration, adherence to agreed plans, and alignment of delivery expectations.
  • Oversee activities from Business Analysts and other contributors, ensuring seamless collaboration across internal teams and any external providers.
  • Ensure data integrity and process continuity, working closely with Data, Technology, and Operations teams to preserve business-critical processes during migration.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication, ensuring all relevant parties—including senior leadership, business teams, and external vendors—are informed and aligned.
  • Ensure business readiness, supporting operational teams through the transition by addressing potential process changes, user impact, and system adoption.
  • Manage the RACI framework, clarifying roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities across all migration workstreams.
  • Work with external providers to ensure alignment between different delivery methodologies, managing expectations and driving a consistent approach to migration governance.
  • Manage change control and governance processes, ensuring that all migration decisions are well-documented, justified, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee budgets and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and expenditure to keep the migration on track and within scope.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory and compliance considerations, ensuring the migration aligns with financial services regulations and best practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience of project management in migration programmes, particularly involving platform transitions and data migration.
  • Expertise in project workstream and programme governance, including RAID management, change control, business readiness, and stakeholder reporting via KRIs and MI.
  • Good third-party/vendor management skills, with experience working with external providers in regulated environments.
  • Solid understanding of Financial Services, within the UK regulated environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and risk management expertise, with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, ensuring alignment across business, technology, and operational teams.
  • Experience working with and coordinating cross-functional teams, including Business Analysts, and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and experience working with external providers following different delivery approaches.
