As the Central America & Caribbean Country Manager, you will shape and execute market strategy across multiple countries, focusing on sustainable growth, revenue performance, and diversification within the payments and e-commerce landscape. You will be accountable for delivering measurable results while navigating complex financial ecosystems and building trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Drive volume and revenue targets by identifying growth levers and executing market-specific strategies.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with merchants, financial institutions, processors, and government entities across the region.
- Expand market share by identifying untapped opportunities and positioning the company’s value proposition with data-backed insights.
- Lead initiatives to diversify payment methods and industry verticals served, reducing dependency on single channels.
- Negotiate cost structures with partners to ensure competitive pricing and operational efficiency.
- Analyze performance metrics and market trends to uncover new business avenues and optimize existing operations.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with legal, tax, operations, product, and performance teams to ensure project delivery and compliance.
- Co-develop marketing and public relations campaigns with partners and clients to strengthen brand presence.
- Monitor competitor activity and emerging market trends, serving as a key source of intelligence for leadership.
- Represent the organization at regional events and cultivate long-term local partnerships.
- Develop contingency strategies to mitigate risks associated with regulatory, economic, or operational shifts.
- Serve as the primary liaison for internal teams and external stakeholders, managing escalations and alignment.
Requirements
- Native proficiency in Spanish and professional fluency in English.
- Proven experience in financial services, payments, e-commerce, or technology sectors.
- Background in strategic project work within payments or fintech environments.
- Established network and hands-on experience in Central America and Caribbean payment ecosystems.
- Familiarity with payment processing and acquiring infrastructure.
- Strong track record in market intelligence, account management, and navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
- Residency in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, or Panama; open to hybrid or remote work arrangements.
