Career Opportunities is hiring a Lead Engineer for Traction Power Supply. You will manage the design and engineering of large and complex traction power projects, providing technical leadership across projects in the UK, Canada, and ANZ regions.
What You'll Do
- Manage the design and engineering of large and complex traction power projects, including design compliance, review phases, and stakeholder management.
- Prepare technical specifications and proposals for bid preparation.
- Create design basis documents, feasibility reports, and technical reports.
- Understand and control interfaces with various disciplines without commercial impact.
- Mentor and cross-skill the engineering team on traction power applications.
- Contribute to tendering activities with preliminary design documentation, drawings, Bill of Quantities, and engineering man-hour estimates.
What We're Looking For
- A graduate or post-graduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 12 to 15 years of experience in the design and engineering of Traction Power Supply.
- Experience with technologies including Monorail, High Speed Rail, Metro & Interstate trains with 2x25KV, 1x25kV, 750Vdc & 1500Vdc systems.
- Been part of at least 5 projects in both third rail and overhead line engineering.
- Hands-on experience in designing TSS & ASS, performing calculations, and conceptual engineering.
- Experience in performing and reviewing Traction Power Simulation Studies, Gap Analysis & Equipment Validation, OLE design & Equipment Validation, Stray Current Management, EMC Plan & Management, Earthing & Bonding, RAM applications, Interface Engineering, and Equipment Specifications for rectifiers and DC protection philosophies.
- Ability to produce design documentation such as Design Basis Reports, Case Studies, and Project Design Specifications.
- Strong English communication skills for coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders across geographical locations.
Nice to Have
- Member of the IET and working towards Chartered Engineer accreditation.
- Experience working on projects for the UK, USA, and other international markets.
- Experience with OpenTrack / OpenPowernet.
- Experience with engineering calculations.
