Brightspeed is looking for a Project Manager, Fiber Engineering & Construction to join our Engineering & Construction Fiber Build team. In this role, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of engineering projects, from network design and construction scheduling to implementation and asset management. You will manage diverse fiber build initiatives, driving them to completion on time and within budget.
What You'll Do
- Develop and monitor engineering and construction build plans across various network types.
- Coordinate and create work schedules to ensure on-time delivery for both internal workforce and contracted vendors.
- Track milestone activities for highly complex projects and programs across multiple lines of business.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations and that projects meet network readiness dates within budget.
- Utilize Cost Per Premise Modeling during design and revision phases.
- Drive actionable data analysis with partner groups including IT, Business, and Vendors.
- Provide technical oversight and support to OSP build and Operations teams.
- Support the removal of network build roadblocks related to permitting and contractual interpretation.
- Collaborate with network and business leadership to design and implement future-state processes.
- Analyze, capture, and interpret Geographic Information System (GIS) and related IQGeo data.
- Communicate training, job aids, and procedures to numerous stakeholders.
- Create and maintain IT enhancement requirements for the fiber design and build organization.
- Perform User Acceptance Technical Testing and periodic Quality Inspections on the Fiber Build.
- Travel periodically for staff meetings, vendor meetings, and local relationship building.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of Telecommunication experience.
- Bachelor’s degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent practical work experience.
- Project Manager Certification.
- Ability to facilitate project creation and management in standard PM tools (MS Project, SmartSheets, Confluence, JIRA, Service Now).
- Experience with Telecom Network Design systems (IQGeo, GIS, SmallWorld).
- Experience with Telecom Facility Record Management tools (O2, BOSS, AMS).
- Usability and understanding of data visualization tools (PowerBI, Power Apps).
- Experience with Vendor & Contract Administration.
- Usability and understanding of financial systems (Ariba, SAP, Accounts Payable).
- Ability to create complex Methods & Procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel, Adobe, and related systems.
- Ability to analyze data to drive strategic business decisions.
- Ability to build cohesive relationships with multiple departments through training, development, and accountability.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree and/or related work experience.
- Knowledge of NDS, TIRKS, SAP, Fireworks, BidMaster, LeaseNet, WFMT, CLM, APO, FT3, ARMOR, MARTENS, Uniqual, O2, NJUNS, SPANS, JRM.
- Experience with Regulatory subsidy compliance.
