Responsibilities

- Manage restoration projects from initial design phase to completion
- Lead proposal development, including scope definition, fee estimation, scheduling, and resource planning
- Conduct site investigations and evaluations
- Prepare detailed technical reports of findings, provide recommendations on project concept, and provide direction during construction phase
- Prepare detailed restoration design, including scopes of work, specifications, and drawings
- Chair client meetings and communicate design updates, changes, and key project milestones to contractors and other engineering and architectural disciplines
- Manage the tendering process and oversee contract administration, including bid preparation, contractor selection, and review of invoices and change orders
- Represent Sense at industry events and other networking functions
- Commitment to continuous learning by staying updated with industry trends, codes, and best practices
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Other duties as assigned/required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
- Minimum 5 years of Building Envelope and/or Structural Restoration experience
- Registered with or eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia
- Proven ability to apply project management principles, from strategic planning and budgeting to resource allocation and scope control
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills with a proven ability to build trust with clients and contractors
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required
