About the Role
Lead multidisciplinary projects from planning to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivering value through strong client relationships, governance, and technical expertise in buildings and infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects, ensuring they align with strategic and operational objectives.
- Develop and sustain strong client relationships by understanding business needs and providing customized project management solutions.
- Implement effective project governance, risk management, and financial controls to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.
- Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders, leading teams and shaping project outcomes through influence and collaboration.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, enhancing team capability and performance.
- Apply commercial awareness and strategic thinking to resolve complex challenges and create value for clients and the organization.
- Demonstrate knowledge of NZS 391X construction contracts, including experience serving as Engineer’s Representative or Contract Administrator.
- Play a key role in project delivery and leadership across the South Island, focusing on buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Provide strategic leadership in project management, guiding initiatives from initiation and design through procurement, consenting, construction, and handover.
- Leverage strong communication and relationship-building skills to connect across internal teams and with diverse clients.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of proven experience in buildings and infrastructure project delivery.
- Solid understanding of the local market, business context, and operating conditions.
- Tertiary education relevant to construction project management consulting.
- Experience in design management, project planning, delivery, and providing strategic advice.
- Action-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Strong ability to build relationships and exercise sound commercial judgment.
- Creative and analytical problem-solving skills to address complex project challenges.
- Collaborative and innovative approach, complemented by a positive and approachable attitude.
