What You'll Do
Lead the execution of community-based projects from initiation through evaluation, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and local priorities. Coordinate weekly activity plans with Team Leads and conduct regular debriefs to assess progress, resolve challenges, and adapt strategies as needed. Oversee daily operations across project life cycles, ensuring effective implementation and timely reporting.
Act as the primary liaison with district and sector-level government officials, fostering strong working relationships and supporting joint planning, supervision, and capacity building. Facilitate training sessions for government staff on program methodologies and accountability frameworks, and participate in joint field visits to monitor progress and address emerging issues.
Develop detailed work plans that map out community-level activities, track financial performance, and ensure accurate reporting across weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycles. Manage procurement processes, oversee inventory systems, and ensure compliance with internal controls. Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of program staff while conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing coaching.
Ensure cross-departmental collaboration with planning, monitoring, and operations teams to enhance project outcomes. Represent the organization in coordination with local authorities and contribute to refining project designs and implementation approaches based on field insights.
Requirements
- University degree in Social Work, Community Development, Project Planning, or a related field
- Minimum of four years of professional experience, including at least three years in a supervisory role
- At least two years of demonstrated experience coordinating with district and sector-level government institutions
- Proven track record in project management, budgeting, and implementation at the village level
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Kinyarwanda
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications
- Valid Rwandan motorbike license with experience navigating rural, hilly terrain
- Ability to travel frequently, with up to 80% of time spent in the field
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
- Experience in training facilitation and team development
- High personal integrity, adaptability, and resilience in demanding environments
