The University Health Network (UHN) is hiring a Project Manager to support the growth and coordination of a collaborative research team at the KITE Research Institute. This role plays a key part in supporting learners, facilitating project coordination, and ensuring research activities progress effectively within a supportive environment.
What You'll Do
- Plan and develop all aspects of assigned projects, determining timelines, schedules and resource requirements in collaboration with the project leader.
- Analyze information system requirements and develop new or modified systems to meet project needs.
- Execute project plans by leading the implementation team, monitoring tasks, and making recommendations to ensure desired outcomes.
- Work with user groups to define requirements and specifications for solutions and evaluate performance.
- Provide direct supervision, including interviewing and hiring staff, allocating resources, and monitoring, assigning and coordinating staff workloads.
- Conduct performance management, including setting expectations, motivating staff, completing reviews, and providing ongoing coaching.
- Monitor vacation, absenteeism, overtime and leaves of absence.
- Control and monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure costs do not exceed established limits.
- Perform administrative responsibilities including scheduling and participating in meetings, providing status reports, and liaising with appropriate parties.
- Participate in the strategic planning process and act as a resource to others, keeping abreast of new developments to advise the team.
What We're Looking For
- Completion of a Master's degree in a related field or recognized equivalent.
- A minimum of five (5) years of project management experience.
- Proven experience working on at least three projects with substantially different characteristics.
- Project planning, management and implementation experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
- Demonstrated commitment to high quality work.
- Ability to use a team approach in solving problems.
- Can effectively manage multiple competing tasks and deadlines.
Team & Environment
You will be a key member of a collaborative research team that includes multiple learners. The team is intentionally learner-enabled rather than solely researcher-led. You will report to the Principal Investigator.
