About the Role

AECOM is looking for a Project Engineer, Mechanical to design and coordinate mechanical engineering projects within the transportation domain and building sectors. You'll ensure technical excellence and client satisfaction on a variety of projects including Metro/LRT/MRT, Rail or Road tunnels, Hospitals, Healthcare facilities, Commercial Buildings, and Data Centers.

What You'll Do

  • Design one or more mechanical services such as ACMV, Fire Protection and Detection, Plumbing, and Water Supply and Drainage.
  • Ensure full compliance with current Building Services Legislation and Engineering Standards.
  • Develop and implement mechanical building services design solutions.
  • Conduct detailed analyses and calculations.
  • Support the preparation and review of Mechanical design drawings.
  • Work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Provide technical information required for manuals and other documentation.
  • Liaise with BIM co-ordinators to ensure design packages are produced to required timescales and quality standards.
  • Provide support to Project Managers during design, installation, commissioning, and testing phases, ensuring timely production of documentation.
  • Liaise with existing and potential customers and their representatives.
  • Ensure full adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers.
  • Participate in development of technical proposals.

What We're Looking For

  • Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a design consultancy firm in mechanical engineering.
  • Proven track record working on Metro/LRT/MRT projects, Rail or Road tunnels, Data Center, Hospitals, Healthcare facilities, or Residential/Commercial Buildings projects.
  • Registered with Board of Engineer (BEM).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of sustainable design practices and their application in mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in working with BIM at Levels of Development (LODs) ranging from 200 to 400.
  • Familiarity with local/international building codes and procedures for submitting designs to authorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in specialized engineering software, including HAP, E20, and Fire hydraulic calculation software like Elite or FHC.

Nice to Have

  • Professional Engineer with Practice Certification status.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position located at MY - Kuala Lumpur - Guoco Tower, Bukit Damansara.
