About the Role
The role involves leading quality assurance activities and ensuring adherence to ASME Section III requirements for nuclear components throughout the project lifecycle, from design to fabrication and inspection.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of quality assurance programs for nuclear systems.
- Ensure compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, for nuclear facility components.
- Review design documentation to verify alignment with nuclear quality standards.
- Oversee supplier quality programs and perform audits of vendor manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain quality control plans for nuclear-grade fabrication activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve non-conformance issues during component production.
- Prepare technical reports documenting quality inspections and test results.
- Support regulatory audits and interface with external certification bodies.
- Ensure proper documentation control within the quality assurance framework.
- Lead root cause analyses for quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in design reviews with a focus on constructability and inspection access.
- Verify that welding procedures and materials meet nuclear code requirements.
- Review and approve inspection and test plans for critical components.
- Ensure traceability of materials and components throughout the supply chain.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers on nuclear quality standards.
