We are looking for a Project Controller to serve as a financial partner, guiding project success through accurate accounting, planning, and risk oversight. Based in Perafita, Porto, this position plays a central role in ensuring financial integrity and performance across project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of complex accounting tasks, including research, preparation, and assessment of non-standard entries
- Anticipate and resolve reporting challenges by developing practical, well-supported solutions
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking to support project financial health
- Apply deep understanding of cost models, business drivers, and variance analysis against targets
- Provide financial insight during contract development and tender processes
- Review contractual terms and assist in structuring agreements, coordinating with legal when necessary
- Identify, assess, and advise on financial risks throughout project execution
- Support risk and project reviews with data-driven analysis and recommendations
- Collaborate with Project Managers to improve financial outcomes and cash flow
- Monitor currency, tax, and financial exposure factors
- Uphold internal controls by identifying gaps, ensuring proper segregation of duties, and reporting deficiencies promptly
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or related field
- Minimum of two years of experience in project controlling
- Proficiency in SAP
- Strong commercial awareness and communication abilities
- Fluent in Portuguese and advanced in English
- Customer-focused with a proactive mindset
Preferred Background
- Experience in Power, Transmission, or Distribution sectors
