The Project & Local Development Officer will lead the implementation and growth of food security programs in Moldova, balancing field coordination with strategic development. You will serve as a key link between local partners, stakeholders, and international leadership, ensuring humanitarian activities are delivered effectively and in line with organizational standards.
Program Coordination & Field Implementation
You will oversee food security and nutrition initiatives targeting vulnerable groups, including women, children, and displaced populations. Regular field visits will allow you to monitor program delivery, apply food safety protocols, and integrate gender-sensitive approaches. You will also contribute to monitoring and evaluation by managing data collection and ensuring safeguarding policies are consistently followed. Occasional support for psychosocial components will complement the holistic nature of aid delivery.
Local Development & Fundraising
In this dual role, you will drive local resource mobilization by identifying funding opportunities from institutional donors, foundations, and corporate partners. You will cultivate relationships with individual donors, prepare compelling grant proposals, and track fundraising performance against set targets. Your efforts will directly support the program’s sustainability and long-term impact.
Communications & Visibility
You will support the creation of high-quality communication materials, including impact stories and testimonials, while maintaining brand consistency. Managing local media contacts, distributing press releases, and facilitating interviews will help raise the program’s profile. You will also ensure donor data is accurately maintained in the central CRM system.
Qualifications & Skills
- University degree in a relevant field such as development studies, social sciences, or humanitarian aid
- Proven experience in NGO or humanitarian work, particularly in food security, nutrition, or rural development
- Background in fundraising, donor engagement, or grant management
- Fluency in English, Romanian, and Russian; Ukrainian language skills are a strong advantage
- Familiarity with psychosocial support (PSS) principles is beneficial
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and CRM systems
- Strong analytical, writing, and interpersonal abilities
