We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to manage the financial components of property management projects in a fully remote role. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting strategic decision-making across project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and track project budgets, including forecasts, actual spending, and variance assessments.
- Oversee project spending to confirm alignment with approved financial plans.
- Review, verify, and authorize invoices for prompt vendor and contractor payments.
- Generate monthly financial summaries that highlight project performance for leadership review.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures with accurate data and documentation.
- Work closely with project leads to deliver financial insights on cost efficiency and planning.
- Ensure all accounting activities follow established policies and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of project-specific accounts as needed.
- Assist senior finance staff with special reports and in-depth financial reviews.
- Keep thorough and organized records to support audit readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in project accounting or a similar finance function.
- Familiarity with core accounting principles as applied to project-based work.
- Proficient in using accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on precision and problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines.
- Clear and effective communication skills in both writing and conversation.
Preferred Background
Prior experience in real estate or property management is beneficial but not required.
